Finding the Still Point

The Body’s "Crosstalk"

Navigating your 40s and 50s can feel like your body is out of your control. One moment you feel fine, and the next, it’s as if your internal thermostat is on overdrive. There’s a biological reason for this. Deep in your brain, a group of neurons called KNDY neurons acts as your internal thermostat. When estrogen levels drop during perimenopause and menopause, these neurons can misfire and send false signals that make you feel overheated.

This isn’t something wrong with you. It’s just how the body works.
What you wear during this recalibration matters. Synthetic fibers like polyester, nylon, and acrylic are petroleum-based plastics. These garments begin their journey at oil wells, are chemically transformed in factories, and after use, most end up in landfills, where they can persist for hundreds of years without breaking down. They repel moisture but also trap heat against the skin. When your KNDY neurons misfire, these fabrics act as insulators, amplifying the heat responses you are trying to manage. In contrast, natural fibers not only feel better but also return safely to the earth at the end of life, making them a smarter and more responsible choice.

Natural fibers do the opposite. Silk, Cashmere, and Baby Alpaca are nature’s high-performance response to a changing body. They breathe. They regulate. Visualize this: It’s 3 p.m., the boardroom air is thick, and anxiety is rising along with your internal temperature. Slipping into a silk tee means feeling the cool glide of fabric against your skin, quiet comfort as you focus on your ideas instead of the beads of sweat threatening to break through. Swap that silk for a nylon blend, and suddenly every degree feels like a spotlight, the heat intensifying under synthetic layers. It’s the simple difference between distraction and relief—nature’s fibers working for you in the moments you need them most.

The Label-Checkers of the Second Stage

How Crosstalk Collections Began: Frustration is a powerful catalyst. After facing the challenges of post-pregnancy and entering perimenopause at 37, our founder realized her wardrobe had become her enemy. The fashion industry felt like a sea of poorly made, ill-fitting clothes crafted from synthetic materials that trapped heat and ignored the changing needs of a woman’s body. She didn't just want new clothes; she wanted a better way to shop. Determined to transform the industry for those entering the "second stage of life," she established Crosstalk Collections. What began as a search for better options evolved into Canada’s premier online consignment destination for high-quality, pre-loved fashion.

Our Mission: Curating for Quality, Not Just Labels

At Crosstalk Collections, we believe that the first step to comfort and confidence is wearing the right material. We are no longer just a brand; we are expert curators. Our mission is to inspire women navigating menopause to embrace this new phase of life with a wardrobe that truly supports their health and comfort.

We choose fibres with purpose. Every item in our shop is hand-vetted to ensure it meets our rigorous standards for quality and thermoregulation. We hunt for the luxurious natural fibres—Merino, Silk, Cotton, Alpaca, and Bamboo—that breathe with you, cooling or warming you exactly when you need it.

The Label-Checker’s Mission

We don’t care about what’s trending this week. We care about what’s on the label.
We call ourselves "Fiber First." Crosstalk Collections is for the woman who looks past the marketing and checks the label first. Together, we’re building a movement based on transparency and conscious choices. We only use high-quality, eco-friendly fabrics that help regulate body temperature:
  • Yak, Alpaca, & Merino
  • Silk & Cotton
  • Bamboo & Linen
The Strength in the Blend: We like to challenge the norm, but we’re also practical. While we focus on natural fibers, real sustainability means making clothes that last. That’s why some of our pieces include just 3-8% high-quality synthetics, like nylon for strength or elastane for structure. This small amount helps each garment last longer and keep its shape, so your favorite pieces stay in your closet and out of the landfill. Durability is the best kind of sustainability.

The Revamp & Reinvest Cycle

We’re based in Prince George, BC, and we’re creating a circular shopping experience just for Canada.

With our Consignment Vault, you can use your old clothes to help pay for new ones. We offer timeless designs that don’t look like typical menopause wear, giving you stylish pieces that last. Every item is designed to be easy to wear and to help you feel confident and independent every day.
